UIF- Rock River Raptors
Jeremiah Trotter III is a 5’7” 185 pound running back / kick returner from Crown College. Jeremiah Trotter III is also the cousin of Pro Bowler and Philadelphia Eagles LB Jeremiah Trotter. Trotter gained over 6,300 all purpose yards and rushed over 4,000 yards at Crown College. Trotter was timed at a 4.38 40 yard dash and is capable of taking all the way on any play. Trotter picked up a lot of awards at Crown College and in 2000 was named All Conference with 1110 All Purpose yards and 7 touchdowns. In 2001 UMAC Player of Week Twice and was a NCCAA All-American with 203 carries 1003 yards, 9 touchdowns. In 2002 was a NCCAA / NAIA All American with 1154 All Purpose yards and 8 touchdowns. 2003 Trotter rushed for 1,817 yards on 332 attempts to finish 2nd in NAIA behind Drafted NY Jets RB Derek Ward. Trotter finished with 17 touchdowns and was a NAIA Don Hansen All-American, All Conference, and NCCAA All American. In 2005 Trotter played in two games with Black Hills Red Dogs where he played both sides of the ball. “To sign a player (Akins) that has shown you can rely on week after week really can help offensive line become consistent,” Said Coach Richards. Coach went on to say about Trotter, “Jeremiah Trotter can run he had 4,000 yards rushing in college and will have to see how he adapts to the indoor game.”
UIF-Evansville Bluecats
EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats are pleased to announce the signing of 5 new players for the 2006 season that have joined their new teammates just in time for the start of training camp. These signing instantly add talent on both sides of the football and give the team plenty of depth going into camp. The players include quarterback Dan Mettlach, linebacker John Winchester, offensive lineman Morris Sanders, and wide receiver Richard Cooper. All players were recruited and signed through the Indoor Football Scouting Bureau services.
Quarterback Dan Mettlach joins the BlueCats after leading NCAA Division II Michigan Tech to the teams first ever Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship and the schools first ever appearance in the NCAA Playoffs. Mettlach led the team to a perfect 9-0 in GLIAC play, and led an offense that ranked among the nation’s top 10 in rushing, scoring, and total offense. He was named 2004 GLIAC Football “Player of the Year” by the league coaches. Mettlach passed for 1,683 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2004 and also ran for 302 yards and 5 touchdowns. He holds the school record with 50 career touchdown passes. Mettlach is originally from Gwinn, Michigan.
John Winchester started at linebacker for the University of Louisiana – Monroe from 2001-2004 after redshirting as a true freshman in 2000. He earned all conference honors during his junior and senior seasons, and was named an Academic All-American for his work in the classroom as he earned his degree in Math from UL-Monroe. Last spring he signed a free agent contract with the Cleveland Browns and attended Rookie Mini Camp. Winchester attended Logansport High School in Logansport, LA where he played football, basketball, and baseball. As a football player, he saw time at several positions, including quarterback, strong safety, punter, kicker, and receiver. Winchester and his teammates reached the high school state semi-finals in 3 seasons in football, once in basketball, and once in baseball.
Morris “Mo” Sanders joins the BlueCats after playing college football for Western Carolina. Sanders redshirted in the 2000 season before playing at right guard from 2001-2004. He was part of the Western Carolina offense that led the league in passing during the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Originally from Pineville, North Carolina, Sanders attended South Mecklenburg High School where he played right tackle and right guard. As a senior, he earned all-state, all-conference, and all-county honors on the offensive line, and was chosen to the All-USA team that played in a high school All-Star in Australia.
The BlueCats have also signed wide receiver Richard Cooper. Originally from Kansas City, Kansas, Cooper was an all-conference and All-American receiver at Avila University and St. Mary College. Last year, he played in 6 games for the Lincoln Capitols where he played receiver and saw some action on defense, recording an interception and a tackle for a loss. He also played for the semi-pro Kane County Eagles last fall. Cooper attended Northeast High School in Kansas City where he played quarterback on offense and several positions on defense, including defensive end, linebacker, and safety. He earned all-conference honors at safety during his senior year.
The Evansville BlueCats are pleased to announce the signing of lineman Brad Kunz from the University of Miami. Kunz is originally from Carlyle, Illinois, and joins the BlueCats after a four-year career on the offensive line of the Miami Hurricanes.Kunz played at Miami from 2000-2004 after redshirting as a freshman in 1999. During his time at Miami, Kunz saw action at offensive tackle and guard. He played in all four BCS Bowl games during his college career, highlighted by the 2002 Rose Bowl where Kunz and his Miami teammates defeated Nebraska 37-14 to win the National Championship.
The Evansville BlueCats are pleased to announce that four more players have signed up to play for the 2006 indoor football season. This impressive group of players will join the team just in time for the start of training camp as the team prepares for the 2006 season. Two players join the BlueCats from UC-Davis, one from the University of Hawaii, and one from San Jose State.
Defensive back Carnell Green attended the University of California Davis, where he started at cornerback for three seasons. As a senior in 2002, he earned all-west region division 2 second team honors and made the All-ICA second team. His team at UC-Davis reached the NCAA Division 2 national semi-finals in 2000 and 2001, and reached the quarterfinals in 2002. Green redshirted during the 1999 season after transferring from Abilene Christian where he was an all-conference honorable mention cornerback as a true freshman.He attended Arlington Sam Houston High School in Texas where he played football and ran track. He was all-district and all-area on the football team, and was able to display his speed as member of the district champion 400 and 1600-meter relay teams.During a NFL pro day on June 5th, 2002 at Azusa Pacific, Green was timed at 4.37 and 4.36 in the 40-yard dash. He also benched 225 lbs. 23 times and recorded a 42” vertical jump.
Also joining the BlueCats from UC-Davis is strong safety Daniel Reece. As a senior in 2004, Reece earned started each game and earned first team all-conference honors at safety. He was also named special teams player of the year in 2002.In high school he played linebacker at Paso Robles High School in California. He was named to the All-7 Districts first team and linebacker of the year as a senior. He was named Co-Defensive MVP in his conference as a senior and was also named as an all-league linebacker as a junior. His team at Paso Robles won their division and went to their section finals in back-to-back seasons.
Patrick Jenkins played defensive back at the University of Hawaii from 2001-2004. He was a member of the Hawaii teams that won back-to-back Hawaii Bowls in 2003 and 2004. Jenkins was born in Philadelphia before moving to Orlando where he attended Dr. Phillips High School. In high school he played several positions on defense, including defensive end, linebacker, and defensive back.
Cornerback Jerrell Hardy transferred to San Jose State after playing two years at Laney Junior College. He played cornerback his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons in college after playing free safety as a freshman. Originally from Oakland, California, he attended Skyline High School where he earned all-conference honors and his team won the OAL conference in his junior and senior seasons.
Wide Receiver/Safety Chris Medlen will make is indoor football debut in Evansville in 2006. His most recent professional playing experience was in the Allgaeu Comets in the German Football League. He played receiver and free safety in Germany, catching 42 passes for 720 yards, and intercepting 5 passes.In college he played for St. Mary’s College where he was a unanimous all-conference selection and 1st team All-American. He also played in the National All-Star game in Dallas.Medlen is originally from Lawrence, Kansas, where he attended Lawrence High School.
The BlueCats would also like to welcome defensive tackle Johnny Brown who will be making his professional debut in 2006. Brown is a 6’1” 337 lbs. defensive lineman from Oakland, California. Last fall, he attended Southern Oregon where he recorded 40 tackles, a fumble recovery, broke up one pass, and was second on the team with 7 tackles for loss. He redshirted at Southern Oregon in 2004. In 2003, he played at NCAA Division 2 Northwood (Michigan) where started 10 games at nose guard and was credited with 37 tackles. He played for Laney Junior College in 2001 and 2002 where he earned all-conference and all-golden gate honors on the defensive line.

AF2-Tennessee Valley Vipers head coach, Chris Williams, has added several players to the 2006 training camp roster. That list includes quarterback, Tony Colston, former Northern Arizona defensive lineman, Cedric Pitts,fomer Alabam State WR Chris Coleman, OS Corvin Johnson from Alcorn State,and defensive back Vernon Smith from Eastern Oregon. Colston (6-3, 205) was the starting quarterback at Tusculum College from 2002-04. He owns several school records including career passing yardage (6307), career completions (544), career pass attempts (544), career completion percentage (.635), career touchdown passes (37), career total offensive yards (6964), career total offensive attempts (1072), season passing percentage (.708 - 2004), single-game passing yards (419 vs. Newberry in 2004), single-game completions (39 vs. Catawba, 2004) and single-game TD passes (5 - vs. Winston-Salem St., 2004). He played one season at Tennessee Tech in 2001. Pitts (6-2, 280) played in 24 games and started in 14 at Northern Arizona in 2002-03. He finished his career with 49 tackles, 12.5 tackles-for-loss, 2.0 sacks, two pass break ups and three fumble recoveries. He played junior college at Navarro Junior College where he recorded 68 tackles and 6.5 sacks The Vipers will also come to camp with former Eastern Oregon defensive back, Vernon Smith, wide receiver/linebacker, Chris Coleman (6-3, 215), from Alabam State and OS Corvin Johnson(5-11, 185), from Alcorn State . Smith (6-1, 180) played the 2004 season at Eastern Oregon after transferring from the University of Montana. While at Montana, he played in 29 games and recorded 113 tackles, 4.0 tackles-for-loss, seven interceptions, 17 pass break ups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one blocked kick. Levander Segars (WR/DB, 5-9, 170) played at the University of Montana from 2001-2004. He caught 129 passes for 1,530 yards and eight touchdowns and rushed 17 times for 77 yards and one touchdown. He also returned 143 punts for 1,441 yards and three touchdowns and returned 67 kickoffs for 1,501 yards and one touchdown Tennessee Valley Vipers head coach, Chris Williams, announced today that team has been assigned former Central Florida quarterback, Ryan Schneider. Schneider (6-2, 230) started all four years at Central Florida from 2000-2003. He played in 39 career games and completed 840-1,354 passes for 10, 976 yards and 82 touchdowns. He had a 62.0 completion percentage and averaged 281.4 yards passing per game. His best season came as a junior in 2002 when he completed 265-430 passes for 3,770 yards and 31 touchdowns. “Ryan put up very impressive numbers while at Central Florida,” Williams said. “Adding him to the mix at quarterback really makes for a competitive camp. We have several good quarterbacks coming in to compete for the starting job.” The Vipers have also been assigned JohnPaul Jones.
Jones (OL/DL, 6-3, 310) played in 37 games at McNeese State from 2002-2004. He finished with 162 tackles, 18 tackles-for-loss for 98 yards, 58 quarterback pressures, 11 sacks for 73 yards, one pass break up and one forced fumble. He was named first-team All-Southland Conference in 2003 and 2004. He was a Division 1-AA All-South selection in 2004. The Lafayette, Louisiana native was heavily recruited out of high school and signed with LSU. He was rated the #59 DT for the 2005 NFL Draft by www.nfldraftscout.com former University of Alabama defensive lineman, Ahmad Childress, who was assigned to team on Wednesday.
Childress (6-6, 320) spent time with the Detroit Lions in 2004 and the New York Giants in 2004 and 2005. He played in 24 games in two seasons at Alabama after transferring from Garden City Community College. He recorded 48 tackles, one sack, six tackles-for-loss, 14 quarterbackhurries, one interception and one pass break up while at Alabama Tennessee Valley Vipers head coach, Chris Williams, announced today(May 15th) that the team has been assigned Farouk Adelekan, Stan Primus, and Walter Washington by the af2 office.
Adelekan (DLS, 6-2, 275) was a pass rush specialist at the University of Houston in 2002 and 2003. He recorded 73 tackles, 25 tackles-for-loss and 11 sacks despite missing six games his senior season with an injury.
Primus (OL/DL, 6-4, 315) played defensive tackle as a junior in 2004 then moved over the offensive line as a senior in 2005 at Temple. He recorded five tackles in 2004. He also played two seasons at Nassau Community College.
Washington (QB, 6-2, 240) played at Temple in 2003 and 2004 and skipped his senior season to enter the NFL Draft. He was a 2004 Second-Team All-Big East selection and completed 297-539 yards for 3,472 yards, 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in his career. He also rushed 378 times for 1,468 yards and 21 touchdowns and led the nation in rushing touchdowns for a quarterback in 2004 with 15. He also led the Big East in total offense with a 281.5 average. He was named the Big East 2005 Player of the Year by CollegeFootballNews.com

NIFL NIFL Player Signings-Tri Cities Fever Coach Dan Whitsett is pleased to announce the signing of DB Elton Seals (6'0 200) , from Eastern Oregon. Elton has previous indoor experience with the AF2 Bakersfield Blitz and the IFL El Paso Rumble. In addition hes had tryouts with the Colts and Jaguars in the NFL. The Fever are proud to announce the signing of Offensive Linemen John Donatto.Donatto, standing 6"4" and 330 lbs., had a collegiate career at Division II power Midwestern State. Donatto was worked out by several NFL scouts following his college career and has experience in the indoor game at both the NIFL and af2 levels. Donatto was a Division II All-Region and All-American offensive lineman. His size and strength will provide a powerful presence on the Fevers' offensive line. Lamberson Signs Free Agent Contract With RiverCity Rage | | | MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Northwest Missouri State quarterback Josh Lamberson (Beatrice, Neb.) signed a free agent contract with the RiverCity Rage, a member of the National Indoor Football League based in St. Louis.
"Josh was an excellent quarterback at Northwest and I saw him play on television in the national championship game and was very impressed," said RiverCity head coach Mike Wyatt. "We are excited to have him and hope this is an opportunity for him to make it to the next level."
According to Wyatt, starting quarterback Clay Groefsema was injured in a non-football incident a few weeks ago. Lamberson and the back-up, Anthony Fisher, will compete for the starting spot.

He leaves the school as the all-time leader in total offense (8,064), completion percentage (65.9) and completions (575) and finished with 7,365 passing yards and 65 touchdowns.

Williams & Williamson Sign With Maulers (MONTGOMERY, AL) The Montgomery Maulers of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) signed Alabama State University (ASU) running back Keldrick Williams and University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) defensive tackle, Sam Williamson last Thursday. The native Alabama standouts will join the Maulers (6-6) for this weekend’s in Fayetteville, NC and close out the regular season with the Maulers on July 1, in Charleston, SC. Williams (5’8”, 205) led the Hornets to a 6-5 record in 2005 and finished out his senior year at ASU scoring nine touchdowns and averaging 88.3 yards/carry. Williams had a game-high 167 yards rushing on October 8, versus Jackson State University and scored a season-high two touchdowns on September 24, against Alcorn State University. Williams led the league in rushing in 2003 and 2004 and was a 2004 First Team All Southwestern Atlantic Conference (SWAC) selection, rushing for over 1500 yards and scored a league-high 17 touchdowns. In 2003 as a freshman, Williams was named Newcomer of the Year in the SWAC and was a Second Team All-SWAC selection. In 2004, Williams became the first running back to average over 100 yards per game since the 2000 and his season to season total was the fifth highest in ASU history. Williams had a total of 3,333 yards rushing in three seasons at ASU. Prior to ASU, he spent one season playing at the University of Tennessee. Williams graduated from Lanier High School in Montgomery, AL. Williamson (6’4”, 292) closed out his senior year at UAB in 2005. The Blazers finished the 2005 season at 6-5. Williamson collected 25 tackles, 12 which were solo, in the 10 games that he played during that season. As a junior, Williamson appeared in all 12 games at defensive tackle and had a season-high six tackles against Houston. In 2003, he despite having his season cut short due to a leg injury, Williamson had a career-high 35 tackles and recorded a career-high eight tackles versus TCU. He finished his campaign at UAB with a total of 106 tackles, 47 which were solo. Prior to UAB, Williamson attended Greenville High School in Alabama. Was named to the 2001 Birmingham News “Best of the Rest” and was named All-County as a senior. “Keldrick and Sam are really going to add a lot of depth to our team,” said Maulers Head Coach Michael Mink. “[Running back] Charlie [Rollins] has had a tremendous season this year and really captained our team; between his ability and the talent of Keldrick, we are going to be strong when it comes to running the ball. Sam has a strong frame is well conditioned and will add some extra strength to our line…These guys are primetime players with a lot of experience; there’s not doubt that they will be a great addition to our team,” said Mink. Maulers General Manager, John Morris, expressed his excitement of the two new additions on the Mauler squad. “I think these two guys are a tremendous addition to our team. They have had respectable careers at the collegiate level and the combination of their experience and the talent that we already have on our team, should make us tough competitors in the final two games of the season and hopefully in play-offs,” said Morris. Mink said that Williams and Williamson were recruited and signed with the help of Ken Robinson of the Indoor Football Scouting Bureau. |
